Christmas Drinks

Who is interested in meeting in Porty for some Christmas drinks?

If yes, what dates suit and we'll go with the most popular.

Can anyone recommend a company or person who can do a complete bathroom refit (new suite and shower and take off wall tiles and put new ones up, new flooring and lighting? preferably someone you've used and were pleased with the work. Thanks.

Victor Hugo would be FANTASTIC! I shopped there when I lived in Marchmont when I first moved to Edinburgh (way before it got its posh makeover!)

Catch up - Malvarosa

Hi

It's been a long time since we had a catch up. I'm suggesting lunch/dinner at Malvarosa in May (Fri/Sat/Sun)

If you are interested please comment on availability and hopefully we can all agree!

Bob has suggested buying this (to help fund it)

Malvarosa deal

Cheers

Re: Malvarosa - Spanish Tapas, in Portobello

Think Malvarosa is great. We love it. A friend who lives in Italy is moving back to Edinburgh and looking to open an Italian Bistro in Porty. I thought this would go down well especially if it is reasonably priced and authentic (her hubby is Italian and she has lived in Italy for 20 odd years). I th...

Re: Pedal - funding unsuccessful

I can only convey the effect it has on our business and market Saturday's are bad. Your shop may do well methabel but ours does not- its simply a fact. Can you explain? Don't understand why organic market makes business bad for pawn shop. They are both totally different things, so don't believe you...

noticed earlier on poster on railing by central bar that market is on tomorrow :D =D>

Porty, don't believe that is true. I think it is likely that people attending the market will use the High St too.

Plus, the market is only on once a month, hardly killing the High St.

We went for lunch today and it was excellent. We had tortilla, chorizo in cider, calmari, jambon/manchego, mushrooms with serrano ham and garlic, pork stew. Stuffed. Doors were flung open as such a gorgeous day - what they need is tables on the pavement (tho they'd need to move the large refuse bin!...

I used the groupon before Xmas for a haircut/colour/conditioning treatment at Cascal all for £30. They got well over 1600 deals sold. (and a lot of unhappy people who had to wait till January to use the voucher!)

Re: The shops thread (was: Empty Shops on Porty High St)

went for tapas this evening - every table taken. Was really good would recommend (also saw Wangi and Mrs Wangi).

Food good, maybe made a few wrong choices with some dishes but overall delicious. Lovely puddings too.

Who fancies lunch on Saturday 15 or 22 Jan?
