Re: Portobello Indoor Bowls & Leisure Centre closing?

A meeting was held yesterday between representatives of PIBC and Convenor for Culture & Sport (CEC), Richard Lewis, and local MSP, Kenny MacAskill. A lot of good points were put to them which have not been thought of during the process of changing the centre to a Gymnastics Soft Play, and there is s...

Re: Portobello Indoor Bowls & Leisure Centre closing?

This is devasting news for the bowlers in East Edinburgh. Yeah, bowling memberships have been on the decline but this now leaves only one indoor bowling centre in Edinburgh. I have been helping run the junior section at PIBC for the last few years and I know the kids are gutted at the news. They hav...

Just to let you all know that the Junior Bowlers (u18s) from Portobello Indoor Bowling Club won the East of Scotland Junior League in their debut season. My mum was the Manageress in the Fords Fisherow shop (although she started in the Porty shop 20 years ago!) and got the news at 2pm yesterday from a Manageress in another shop! Always thought those number 15 style buses smelt damp - also a stupidly small amount of room between the seats at the back downstairs. As for the single decker 21 - i hate it.. means that the scumbads that would normally sit upstairs at the back have to sit on the same floor as me... playing music ...

Look at all those new buses they have bought, the 49s now have new buses. Must have cost a fortune. (Although the previous 49 buses were fairly new, its the 21's that are a bit old n shabby.) Turns out that after the route & fare changes are made on the 18th, the 21 route will be served by low-floo...

Taxi Horns when you are sleeping

What is it about taxi drivers that they think they can "toot" their horns at any time of the night!
