I'm sorry to hear about the crashes, Marya. It must have been a shock, no matter the amount of damage done. I suppose, looking on the bright side, there is a garden wall between you and them, and they haven't actually gone into your living-room! :(

I know this is probably an incredibly stupid question .......... :? ............ have we any idea when all this is going to be over? The weekly roads report issued by the Council still indicates April 2009. This has been the case for some time now. Ive had a wee look on the Orb at work bu...

I start work at 8am through the week. I normally get the 21 at 7:30ish and get to Lochend/Restalrig for 7:40, Im planning on getting an earlier bus into work so that if there are any long delays it wont affect me. Seems like the sensible thing to do. Allow extra time for the journey due to the dive...

As far as I can see, from my vantage point beside The Foresters' , nothing much has changed. I wish there had not been the headline on the local news that said 'Portobello High Street Closed'. It's only closed from Fishwives' Causeway. I hope High Street businesses don't suffer from the rest ...

The best one in Scotland I ever came across was the one at the corner of Picardy Place and London Road, sadly now something else. Well, if anyone goes, perhaps you might be kind enough to send me a postcard? I collect postcards, and I don't think I have any at all of Amsterdam! Hi Marya. Glad you are OK. It might be only metal, but it's always a hell of a shock. Hope there are no after-effects. But you'll probably have to learn to swear in Serbo-Croat. Preferably a genuine, second-hand bookshop, where you could browse - maybe, even have a coffee - and hopefully pick up lovely old and/or local books! The charity shops occasionally turn up gems, but they don't seem to have as many pre-21st. century ones as they used to.
