Golf at Portobello Park, in terms of tee times booked has declined by 12% over the last 3 years. I cant speak for PFANS but it is clearly apparent from the councils proposal that we can have our schools if no new golf course is built. The proposal on the table does not include any money for a new co...

This is not an aside, but a genuine question for those who advocate building on the park. This is another Edinburgh Park which has quite rightly had a fair bit of cash spent on it. <img src="http://www.clanconnelly.com/portyonline/botanics.jpg"> I was there yesterday and wondered If Portobello park...

... I've only briefly skimmed this thread but my own view would be that it's a bit premature to be thinking of dispersing the proceeds left in the PCATS kitty. One thing that appears to have been overlooked by those that are advocating a re-build on the existing site; the land will effectively have to be purchased and a decant paid for, which could leave a £13m to £15m funding hole.

Well done from Diane Finlayson. I think that's an excellent new idea, we could have 3 new schools and no housing on Portobello Park. Don't know what the roles of Brunstane and Lismore are but it shoudn't be too onerous for such a big space.
