Firstly, the land will be cleared of the bushes and many of the rather tatty shrubs etc. The tress will remain. The grass will remain. Hi Jonathan, Thought you said the trees were to remain, nearly half of...

Ach, I dunno like, id rather see a building there being used rather than a boarded up office block with some smashed windows like is there at present. Not the best site to look at every day...lol Yes, but you could say that about any new development of an old site - just look at the one at the end ...

Edinburgh Lesiure are to close six creches - Portobello being one of them, that's really not good news for those of us with small children who use this facility... : (

Massive sewage failure at Seafield - beach and water warning
 Just been down to Porty beach and there's a few very pathetic signs up stating that the water may be unsafe and to avoid the beach ! Yikes - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/6580253.stm EDIT: Have moved this topic to the "Portobello Matters" forum, and split out the les...

Handy Man
Hi, I'm in the process of setting up my own handyman business in Porty and should be up and running by April. However, I'm quite happy to take on small scale jobs, like work the you described - at evenings and weekends in the meantime. Feel free to drop me an email if I can be of any help ! Steve st...

Climate Change - For anyone that's intrested in helping
Thought it might be a good topic to raise, especially if you care about climate change and want to do something about it.
For starters have a look at this, The Big Ask - it's easy to do and it sends an email to your local MP,

Pass it on !

RE : Outline planning application
Hi Jonathan, I'm one of the neighbours that has recieved a Neighbour notification and looking at the details, esp the plans (site boundary), does not look like it includes 55 Bath street, even though this is stated on the notification. I'm fairly certain after speaking to various neighbours, that th...
