Wicker boat on the beach.

Between Bellfield Street and foot of Marlborough Street. It obviously took a lot of time and effort to make. As well as the boat there are lovely wee wicker fish. Does any one know who created it? Why it's there? It's wonderful. =D> http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q172/SoupDragon_photos/021.jpg h...

Re: Portobello Bottle Works, Baileyfield Road, Portobello

We were warned off going into the bottle works with tales of a boy who fell and died in there. Wonder if there's any truth in that. It was possible to sneak in through the gap where the burn comes into Rosefield Park, I think there's now a path that come out at the insurance buildings, so they must ...

I have a vague memory of those cottages. I'm sure at the end of the lane- between the end of the row and where the entrance to the masonic Lodge is- was where the donkeys from the beach were stabled. Is there any concrete evidence for the dog deaths in Figgate Park?

Someone wouldn't just make that up, would they?

Though maybe if the dogs were on a lead they wouldn't leap into the pond.
Is there a case for publicising that dogs should be kept on a tight lead especially on the walkway

Just for info, if my memory is correct, the capacity at Leith Academy is 950
I think the current school roll is not that far off that number
I also know that a few years ago a couple of classes were being taught in huts at the edge of the car park.
