A question about Stanley House Nursing Home

Post by Mignon whitefoot » 01 Jan 2012, 22:01

Hi everybody,

My father was born at Stanley House nursing home in 1932. He would like to find the house he was born in. We visited Stanley Street to look for it. All the houses now appear to be numbered. Can anyone help identify which house was the nursing home please? (if the house is still there)

Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe my [late] father was born there too, in 1929. As far as I can discover, it is the black & white painted slightly mock Tudor looking house in Stanley Street, the last on the left as you walk towards the golf course.

If it's not that house, I'd be equally interested to know which it was as no one left in the family seems to remember.

That's backed up with the name on the door too; zoom in on this Google Street View and you can just make out "Stanley House" on the door of number 18.
