board time is incorrect - twice

Post by Surrealist » 28 Apr 2004, 23:54

The time displayed on the board is incorrect. Currently we're on GMT daylight (which is, I think, GMT+1)

Anyway, most times displayed on the board are an hour out, but when you first come to the forum page without logging in - it is *two* hours out - if you log in (say, to check pms) and go back to the forums index the display changes to display two times, both of which are only an hour out.

The irony which may not strike most is that of those photographed demonstrating this website and forum, one is engaged in fixing the clock in the police tower and the other works for a marine seismic company whose very reputation rests on supplying clients with precision timestamped position data.

One of them should be able to get the forum clock right !!!

Well Dave is no longer involved in the site, so that lets him off the hook.

I have adjusted the system timezone to your specifications. However, through the personal profile settings users must also set their own timezone to display the time correctly. The board allows you to override the system timezone for obvious reasons.

I'm sure that in the People's Republic of Portobello (PROP) the clocks will always run on time, but until then I have problems remembering what day it is, never mind anything more specific. Besides, it's all relative.

It is all relative. I mean, at the moment my body is telling me it must be at least 1am because I'm knackered but my brain is telling me that surely it can only be about 3pm because I've not done everything I should have and my computer is telling me it's 9.15pm which of course its not so which should I believe? :?
