There are still a reasonable number of tickets at Portobello Stationers and I stocked up Kitcheners this afternoon so there should still be plenty to go round...unless there's last minute rush.

I will post on Friday as to the up to date position, i.e. whether there will be any on sale on the door.

Look forward to seeeing (and spladooshing) you all there.

Thanks for for all your good wishes although we are not on the POL Team - I don't think we have cat in h**l's chance of winning.

Anyway, anyone looking for tickets will be pleased to hear that ther will be some for sale on the door at the Freemasons, Beach Lane.

See some of you later.

I think we were 4th out of 17 teams, which was not bad at all. We did really well in the proper questions but when it got to the Air Guitar round we (in the guise of Epykat) stole the show. We will live to fight another day.

As Quizmaster Tom Nimmo did a brilliant job, not just with the quiz but with the disco afterwards. Knowing your audience is half the battle and Tom had the game won at Hello. Well done. :D :D

Very well done =D> I hope they weren't giving out medals though as 4th is always the "just missed out" place.

Sorry I didn't make it last night teamsters. No, it wasn't the Cumberland sausage. I'm having major problems with a neighbour, the Police are involved and obviously it's not something I can discuss online. Suffice to say I was in no mood to be sociable so I stayed home and watched 'Neighbours From Hell" instead.

Great effort - hope you all had a good time.

You've been playing your Cramps albums too loud again, haven't you?

Good luck with that, Bob. No doubt a tiring process but worth carrying on with.

That's pretty crap Bob and you were sorely missed

It sounds like you had a brusing experience, I had one of them myself whilst "bumping" with Epykat. I think she has her knees sharpened at Woodwares. :D

We missed you last night Bob but did our best to enjoy ourselves (as you can imagine!) despite your absence. Epykat's air guitar was indeed star turn :glasses7: though a special mention should also go to Flearoy who blew the competition away (with a bit of help from young Bellybabe) in the 'present hits' section \:D/ .
Porty sportingly donned a special 'lime cap' to draw the raffle and to cries of 'fix' he kept on drawing the winning ticket from our table. Flearoy and I contented ourselves with a prize apiece but I know who I want to choose my Lottery numbers for me from now on!
And what was my contribution? Well, I danced enthusiatically (complete with actions), round a collection of handbags, to 'YMCA'. Says it all really

Well done all of you!

I'd have loved to have seen Epykat in action with her air guitar and Marya, embarrassing dancing is my forte so I'm sorry to have missed out on that too.

What were the prizes you won?

Ahem...a bottle of Vodka and a 'Good Pubs' guide. You'd never have guessed that we got to choose our own prizes, would you?

A big thankyou to everyone who attended last night’s pop quiz but especially to our superb quizmaster and DJ, Tommy Nimmo. He did a magnificent job and I agree with the comment that it takes someone special to get 90 supposedly grown up people to simultaneously perform their Air Guitar’s all, of course, in perfect tune. Is there a record in this? If anyone’s wondering, Tommy is available, with or without his lovely assistant, for other functions, parties, weddings, funerals etc. just send me a private message if you don’t know how to contact Tommy.

We raised over £480 profit for the campaign to pay for expert witnesses. This is fantastic - especially when it was so enjoyable an event. I can’t promise the same level of enjoyment at the Public Inquiry that starts on Tuesday 1st March but it would be great to see as many people as possible dropping in to the inquiry as and when. I have this vision now of when the reporter asks for evidence to be led by the PCATS group, we all get up and give them a blast from our air guitars - that’ll send Duddingston House Properties scuttling.

Actually, when we saw the prizes we were glad we didn't get any

As for the....erm.....air guitar episode - better forgotten  (anyway, Marya had a much better stance than I did - she was just a bit shy at exposing it initially.... :D )

As requested by ecm here are a couple of pics from the Pop Quiz; one showing Epykat concentrating on getting her chords just right and the other of Porty in his 'lime hat'. I did have a full frontal shot of Porty but the red eye made him look like son of Satan, so I've spared you it. As you can tell by the fact that Epykat and Porty both seem to have lost their feet I'm not exactly the next Wangi
