provocative thread. for prombabe.

Post by Dadaist » 08 Mar 2005, 18:08

Here is my marketing idea. I think that nicotine replacement therapy manufacturers should increase sales by using their product to get people hooked on nicotine, before introducing them to smoking.

Instead of going from smoking to using patches in decreasing strengths, adults and the youth market could be introduced to nicotine starting with gum or weak patches, and moving up to high strength (21mg) patches until proper addiction starts. Then a brand of cigarette could be chosen.

Whilst cigarette advertising is banned, it's perfectly legal for Niquitin or Nicotinell to be punted, so it would be a simple step to market the product to non-smokers. Patches could have funky designs (like transfers) for the youth market. Once hooked on nicotine, clever synergistic marketing could tie in a particular brand of patch with a corresponding brand of cigarette - you could have various logos and paraphernalia - leave that up to the creative types.

Additional draws could be things like a "Start Smoking Day" and a Smoking Helpline offering tips on papers, filters and brands.

The moneymaking possibilities are endless. Whaddyall think?

While we're on the subject, here's something pinched from elsewhere:

GUY GOES INTO A SHOP......

Customer: Worcester sauce please mate...

Shop Keeper: Sorry can't, it's off the shelves, cancer scare.

Customer: Oh right, errrr, Chinese Chicken Wings then?

Shop Keeper: Ah that's the same mate, cancer scare.

Customer: Hamburger Relish?

Shop Keeper: Cancer scare.

Customer: Sausage and Mash?

Shop Keeper: Cancer scare.

Customer: Cottage Pie?

Shop Keeper: Aye.......no wait, cancer scare.

Customer: So they're all off the shelves because of a cancer scare?

Shop Keeper: Yup.

Customer: Blimey , that's mad, just give me a packet of fags then.

Shop Keeper: No bother. That'll be £4.99 please.

Well Jings!

now I know why Catz needs a 4Meg line - thats hard work to view even on this 2Meg one. The figures are not properly attached to the bases anyways, so points are dropped there as well.
