Welcome to the forum Angusi. What a pleasure it is to have such a discerning new poster (I've just read your post in praise of Portobelly Telly

).

Unfortunately no-one can listen to RFP at the minute as Dadaist is having 'technical difficulties'. "Normal service will be resumed soon" as they say in Media circles. Keep your eye on the 'Announcement' post regarding RFP at the top of the Forum.

This is such a famous piece - but what film will most people know it from?

Dadaist: The Hannibal Lecter of internet radio. That is a worrying image : )

I didn't know they'd used it in a famous film. It must have been one with epic swooping landscape shots or a bit of death, despair and destruction at a guess. Go on Dada, reveal all..

Damn, royalties for copyright hit again.. If only the WRVS, or whatever the royalties alliance are called, took chocolate payment too..

Yes - check out the RFP site and the contact page. You can just drop in and give it to the nice people or send it.

I just put them in my coat pocket. This means if I wear my coat home I will take them with me by default.

That sounds like an unfair swap to me given that I was supposed to send you those cds anyway!!!

But before Jackie Priest chips in by saying "if Dada doesn't want them I'll have them" .... give me the choccies.

Great CDs! Worth waiting for : )

I will endeavour to avoid eating these chocs before I get a chance to post them. There's even enough for JP to collect as royalties : )

I think I'm going to place myself in a strategic position inbetween Mop Towers and Priest Towers. If I see chocolate trying to sneak its way past (or if Poppy informs me on the 2-way radio) then I'll abseil down and hijack it, Milk Tray Commando Style.

Oh great, Porty has the only Milk Tray men who break in to *steal* the boxes of chocolate..

I have to confess that even the chocolate Marines would be out of luck tonight. I sort of, er, kinda ate the spare unwrapped chocs. It was purely for research you understand. I'll make more tomorrow : )

20/03/06 - brand new schedule !!

"Massive outbreak of music fever as RFP comes in from the cold"

In possibly the biggest outbreak of commercial music to hit the station since its discovery, sources have confirmed that Radio Free Porty has now updated its schedule to include 5 hours of brand spanking new booty-shaking music.

To those exposed, there is a distinct progression in symptoms caused by several variants of this virus mixed into one - among the newly identified strains are the deadly "Novastar" which causes its victims to thrash uncontrollably, "Megadom" who changes the victims tastebuds to only accept refined material - suddenly mutating into "DJ Mop" which causes drunken antics and has been known to cause desire for love, chocolate or both. The host may then become House-bound at the hands of the American part of the payload - Jeff the Meandering Mouse whose effect only wears off after at least 70 minutes of introspection. Thankfully the symptom complex tapers off with a relaxing dose of The Hot Lemons.

If you think you have been exposed to music fever, fear not. There is no longer any need to notify the authorities - they are already aware of the scope of this outbreak and are satisfied that it has been contained ... for now...

Thought I'd give my reasons for picking the tracks.

Interesting assortment on there now - heavy metal one minute and Bert Jansch the next.

Have also just heard someone saying hello - think they said it was Bellybabe? How did you get those snipets?

That's Bob and his field recorder who managed to collect some great quality snippets on a POL social evening (hello social convenors) where we met JP and Gedge for the first time, and even got to see what a lurker looks like.

I have 2 recordings of Poppy announcing the name of the station - both are featured on the current schedule.

Thanks everyone for listening - busy night at the station last night!

DJ Pace and Jackson Priest are now part of the current schedule - as if it wasn't good enough already - thanks guys for all of your hard work.

This brings the current schedule to SEVEN HOURS of content spanning a wide mix of musical styles - I'll leave JP himself to explain "Funky Chops" to all y'all but I would like to single out our exclusively mixed dance sets - these guys have sweated at the turntables to bring you :
