Help! Mouse pad problem

Apparently, pouring half a glass of white burgundy over your laptop doesn't do it much good. My mouse pad is now largely unresponsive to the point of being almost useless. And once Emily finds out I have stolen her mouse I'm in big trub. Any (cheap) suggestions as to how to solve this, apart from drinking from a straw in future?

Yes ... don't drink ANYTHING near a computer, laptop, ibook or even a calculator!

I dropped my bottle of Coke over the keyboard of my laptop last year. Was very lucky it still worked, but eventually had to trade it in for a newer model. These things are expensive to fix. Just opening it up can empty a Saturday wallet. Don't try to fix it yourself. That's a shop prob!

*note ... Saturday wallets are usually more full than other days of the week! Till you hit the shops ...

erm... why don't you take the laptop to bits and see if you can clean up the stickiness from the inside?

They come to apart and go back together again fairly easily...
