Have you lost your dog?
Currently tied up outside Scotmid, sort of collie thing. It has been there for several hours apparently and the staff have now contacted the police. No name tag. Heading for jail unless someone claims it pronto.

Bit sad that it was left there for hours before anyone noticed/took any action. Hope its okay!Bob Jefferson wrote:Currently tied up outside Scotmid, sort of collie thing. That would be my dog.
My MIL and kids took the dog to Scotmid (MIL being kind and thinking about how much dog might like a walk), where he was briefly tied up while they were inside. When they came out, they untied him, picked up his lead and headed off home. In the process youngest offspring had his second copious nosebleed of the day, and in dealing with that, when MIL looked down, she obviously hadnt clipped the lead properly and dog was gone - off for a wander.
As for "tied up for hours", it would appear some eejit - presumably trying to be helpful
-, saw the dog on dog's return to Scotmid, and had the "bright" idea of tying him up again - meaning the hour my MIL and kids spent searching for him on the prom in the wind and rain was of course fruitless
- and also meaning everyone got to be all judgemental about how we left our dog tied up at Scotmid until he was arrested by the polis.
I arrived home at 10.30 from a very long day at work to be told the sad tale by MIL, to spend more fruitless time wandering the streets and prom trying to find him, and to call the polis frantically trying to find my very much loved and never neglected dog, whilst very upset and worried about him.
Poor dog indeed.

Oh dear!! Seems the gossips got it wrong again, I bet half of Porty heard about the dog apparently left abandoned outside the co-op!bellybabe wrote:That would be my dog.

Did you get it back okay in the end then?
Yes thanks - we left a message on the EDCH phone on friday night, phoned again as soon as they opened on saturday, and MIL was there with offspring (one bleeding copiously YET AGAIN
) as soon as they confirmed it was our precious dog.
Oh...and Scotmid told the polis it was an entirely different kind of dog, which also didn't help matters...as when I asked if they'd got my dog, and gave the description, they said no...
However, the rather frosty polisman (having heard the gossip about my poor abandoned dog) thawed considrably when he realised it was MIL who lost him and not myself, and couldn't have been more helpful.

Actually, I thought it looked a bit like your dog to be honest and was about to phone you but I wasn't sure, so I posted here in the hope that you would read it if it was yours. And I believe it was a member of Scotmid staff who tied him up outside because he kept coming into the store and jumping up at the counter.
What a nightmare for you, BB. (And I do hope the poor child with the nosebleeds is better!)
Sounds like a clever dog you've got there.
When we got our junior cat from EDCH he was micro-chipped before we were allowed to take him home. We did try getting the cats to wear wee disks with our details on them, but they detested them.
