I was confused as to why you were asking me when the event was as the previous post contained all the relevant info, so I thought you must be referring to some other event.
Anyway, just in case you didn't get it, it's tomorrow, 2 October, 10am-1 pm in St James church hall, Rosefield Place. I'll save you some goodies although I suspect you are only coming along to spladoosh Gemini!

It's like a Labour Conference in there!
We bought some Parkin and we don't even know what it is!
My fairy cake had hundreds and thousands on it, and I got coffee in a proper cup on a saucer. Neo-Dadaist was smiling at Susan Deacon MSP.
A fun day out for all the family!!

I spotted you. Emily was playing up and you left. Sommthing stopped my from spladooshing you?
The funny thing is I was sitting at the LP table and a lady came up and started discussing a local issue with me. I believe she thought I was a councillor! Anyway, after about 5 minutes I told her I would bring it up at the meeting next week. Am I bad?
The home baking was brilliant and the Coffee was good too. It all ended rather weakly when they had to put the Danish Pastries in to the reduced items section. A bit like a Supermarket, announced one witty observer.

Many thanks to everyone who came along to support the PCATS coffee morning. We raised £250. Thanks also to all those who baked and helped out. It was indeed like a Labour Party mini-conference in there at times. We were also expecting Tone to turn up but he didn't have the heart for it!
In answer to Dadaist's comment that he doesn't know what parkin is, it's a Yorkshire delicacy, customarily eaten around plot (bonfire) night, made with oatmeal and black treacle. Hope you enjoy it.

Ahem. Daddy's little princess does not "Play Up", sir. She perhaps became a trifle bored with her environment, or was perchance indicating a preference for her victuals.Porty wrote: Emily was playing up
Upon her return to Dadaist Towers, I assure you that her ladylike composure was entirely regained. Pah!
Perhaps hob-nobbing with all of you so-called Labour socialist types was not to her liking. After all, she will shortly be residing in Duddingston, an exclusive area where we like to keep out your grubby kind with your beer and your sandwiches. Eh, what!

shame you didn't say hello Porty
we were in a slight rush, or at least I was, as I still had to walk along to Seafield to collect my car from it's not-needed-service
before the place shut at 12. Poor Emily was objecting to being bundled into her car seat when there was still much in the hall that the nosiest baby in the world hadn't had a chance to look at properly
and, now that we've tasted it, I can say that Parkin is very nice

I'm not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship
Agreed, I think what happened was I was engaged in a conversation involving several people, I saw you and rather than just acknowledge I wanted to speak with you. The next thing I knew you were off.... there will be a next time no doubt.Beach Babe wrote:shame you didn't say hello Porty
.....ambition makes you look pretty ugly
Saturday in Portobello
Sauntered out at about eleven down to the P CATS coffee morning. Got the last bit of parkin
(sorry, everyone else after me!
). I haven't had it for years, and have been delightedly sampling it all weekend
. Also some lovely mini-quiches and scones. Probably saw lots of POL people ..... the ladies behind the table?
Then a stroll along the High Street, in and out of the charity shops, where I managed to acquire 2 beautiful Victorian editions of Dickens for the princely sum of £1 each, and to the library book sale, where I acquired 2 more excellent books also at £1 each.
Excellent morning all round!
Thanks to everybody concerned for the lovely eatables ............
