Happy New Year you lot. My aquisition of a digital piano is imminent (be grateful, neighbours, that a digital one has a headphone socket!). Anyway, can anyone reccommend a good piano teacher to get me off to a good start ?
Equally, if there're any you think I should avoid..... (maybe PM about those).
Thanks in advance.

Hey, we'll be sorted for the next ceilidh if you're learning good tunes
I don't know a piano teacher in Porty. I'm still looking for a bagpipe teacher. Folk always check how near I live to them when I tell them I want to learn

Re: piano teachers
My daughter is currently teaching both herself and me to play piano. Her fourth instrument and my first. She has the patience of a saint and she's going to need it. I recommend Usbourne's First Book of the Piano, which assumes (correctly in my case) that you are starting from zero.

I can recommend Francois Roudiere (Marlborough Street), he teaches piano to all ages and abilities.

Thanks, Bob and Mark. I'll probably attempt a mixture of teaching myself (I can read music) and a proper tutor.
Piano teacher
Looking for a piano teacher for 16 yr old boy, wanting to learn purely for enjoyment , no working to exam level, no stress, just wants to be able to play and have a good time. Preferably to come to house.
