I think it is referring to the FB comments on Ian "pictures of cars" Ross. Who is a PPAG petitioner works for Balfour Beatty. So he's campaigning against his employer, who won the contract.

Lashy, do you mean the "A New Porty High School In The Park" page on Facebook? If so it is still up and running. I have just gone back through it to the beginning of April and can find nothing derogatory posted on there by Bob Jefferson. The only thing which might be considered 'dodgy' are the remarks made by Stephen McIntyre when he 'outed' Ros Sutherland on 7 April and even then it was something which was fairly common knowledge.

Perhaps you are actually thinking about something which was posted on Save Porty Park and deleted by their very zealous team of censors.

The wider context was the following statement by Epykat about Sean

Sean requested several times that she evidence where he had identified anyone as a "stupid,dense,thick, lying Nimby". He asked several times and all Epy had to offer was her stock response "I can't be bothered trawling through dozens of posts"-

Which is fairly vacuous. Nothing personal it is a simple truth.

I think making a factual claim and then not attempting to justify it on the basis that you 'can't be bothered' is indeed vacuous. It certainly renders any meaningful attempt at dialogue futile.

As to bullshitting, it is quite distinct from lying. The liar has to first know the truth, so they can then seek to conceal it. For bullshitters the truth is neither here nor there; they say what is convenient with no regard to its accuracy either way.

I was also called a bullshitter on page 9 of PPAG Judicial Review - again by Sean. This was in reply to my belief that the pitches at the new school won't be free. When I come across more I'll be sure to let you know.

There are at least half a million words in an unabridged English dictionary, making English by far the richest vocabulary in the world. You could take out the comparatively tiny number of words that cause offence and still have more than enough to construct the odd sentence or two.

You made the claim that the new school was an open plan design, a claim that is demonstrably untrue. You also claimed there was no dining area within the proposed school, again demonstrably untrue, and that the football pitches were within the school campus, again demonstrably untrue. When challenged on all these points you made no attempt to justify your claims. Saying things that are obviously untrue is a classic sign of bullshitting; lying tends to be more sophisticated.

I agree that Avril misunderstood the drawings. That was obvious at the time. But people don't like to admit when they are wrong, particularly if they feel that they may be ridiculed for it. When you analyse it, there isn't really much to any of this at all. One or two misunderstandings, some intemperate language and a bit of myth-making.
