I hope things DO continue to get better.

The boat! The boat!
That must have been taken a long while back, its all built round now. And they've gone one way thru the hospital grounds.
For those not in the know its one of the labs at the Western General hospital

My daddy designed it! I would imagine the photo was taken when it was just built. Initial design commenced 1958 - building completed 1961. Cost £111,000 from what I can gather.

Sitting on the bridge right now.
There is intense debate with the "powers that be" just now as to whether to demolish this building and replace it, or refurbish.
Current quotations are £5M to replace, 3/4 of a mil to refurbish. Either way looks unlikely at the mo given the financial situation.

Demolish - how dare they even think about it!!
I won't tell him when I see him today. A couple of years ago when he came to visit me in WGH he was really cheesed off with what they'd done to the Outpatient block when they built the Anne Ferguson Building etc. He seemed more upset about that than about me being hooked up to oxygen mask

Clever Daddy!!!
Did he design anything else in town we might be familiar with?
I can't quite picture where that particular lab is within the WGH. The place is a bit of a mish mash of architectural styles, isn't it?
