Whole families out in spite of the cold, everyone happy and friendly
Bumped into Rapunzell ( twice) and Granty

Lots of bonfires, fireworks, sky lanterns ( spooky to watch them floating in the sky ), a fiddler or two

Happy New Year
Spot on summing up SD. Shame I didn't see you (or Sandra and BC) ,but met quite a few others. The live music was great and owes quite a debt to the talented Simpson family. The friends we had with us, who are up from England for their very first Scottish Hogmanay, are very impressed with Porty.
I'd never seen a sky lantern before. I thought it was Venus

Yep, another brilliant hogmanay right on the doorstep. Great company, nice wee treats (ta for the Cava, Soupeys) and Rapunzell for the chocs. Hope you survived my dodgy wine! Those spooky lanterns are just fab as well.

What perfect beach party weather! I was fine once I'd toppped up my hot water bottle, added extra socks and swigged some of Granty's special medicinal wine :-)

Lovely to see Granty, Soupdragon and Mr Soupdragon, and a whole host of other neighbours I only seem to see on hogmanay each year! I did peer in at the windows of the Espy but they were all steamed up.

Bellfield St's fireworks were bloody good ones, but of course we got Musselburgh's from a safe distance too :-) I really fancy making some of those magic balloons for my birthday plans...

We took the car down to the Ormlie for one then drove along to the Foresters to meet up with some friends. They said they were locking the door at 10pm but didn't and it wasn't overly busy. They brought out a rather rubbish buffet (but it's the thought that counts :D ). Really fancied going down the beach but don't think I could have managed the walk so taxi'd it up the road and brought in the bells with our neighbours. All in all, a much better NY than I was expecting to have!

Oh, Happy New Year all BTW.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Glad to hear you managed a wee bit of a celebration Epykat. We missed you and Mr E this year.
