Famous people spotting
I saw Fred MacAuley on Friday night looking very dapper in a fetching cream three piece - a lot shorter than I thought he would be I have to say, but just as gorgeous and an Irish comedian with a funny name which I can't either remember or spell who appears to have a broken leg at the moment and was trying to get out of a taxi.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!
Could we just get something straight here - I did not, would not and have not ever had a crush on Porty - much as he wishes I did/do/might......Poppy wrote:Aye, but see the Which House thread re her crush onPorty??!!![]()

Right.....now we've cleared that up......yes ECM I do believe you could be right - it was Donald McBrain or whatever his name is and he is quite funny. We had just be to see Jerry Sadovich who was also quite funny, but only if you had a skin as thick as two elephants and would have been just as funny had he not interspersed everything with **** or ****. The three folk who walked out though obviously weren't amused.

He is outrageous, isn't he. I'm surprised only three people left early.Epykat wrote:We had just be to see Jerry Sadovich who was also quite funny, but only if you had a skin as thick as two elephants and would have been just as funny had he not interspersed everything with **** or ****. We went to see Mr Sadowitz several years ago. It is the only show I have ever been to that filled up from the back of the hall forwards. It was only when the show started that I began to appreciate why.
He is outrageous and merciless and several people walked out during the show we saw but his performance was spellbinding, terrifying and cathartic.
The end to the show was quite brilliant, with Sadowitz chasing a female member of the audience out of the theatre, dragging her back onto the stage and attempting to shove her into a box. The woman eventually overpowers him and gets Sadowitz into the box - and it finally dawned on me that she was a stooge.

But you've not mentioned hisEpykat wrote:Mr E's been a busy celeb spotter this week. He was working in Ronnie Corbett's house at the beginning of the week, having a wee chat and getting his autograph on his worksheet and then he did the same with Fish on Thursday.
Ok, so we seem to be a bit short on real celebs of late or, in Poppy's case, the real celebs have been a bit on the short side.
Bet all of us here look more like certain celebs than some of these folks do.
lookielikies (or not in most cases)
This is Michael Douglas apparently.
hahahahaha

Back in the Seventies the girls mag Jackie used to frequently have pin up pics of Ray "Butch" Wilkins.Zargonian wrote: Ray Wilkins, whilst we were both parking our cars.

He was rather handsome back then. He had hair and all his own teeth.

I know, I know, big deal!
Overheard enough of his conversation with a Big Issue seller to glean that he (Russ) is at the Playhouse just now. Panto, I suppose?
I remember the Sellafield Visitor Centre advert, and the lady on it looked at the camera and said "no I'm not an actress ... this is me job!"Epykat wrote:The guy on the NHS advert estolling the virtues of becoming a male dental nurse, in ........ the dental hospital
Would have been ok if she hadn't had 3 arms.

Cleopas
I have met George Takei (Sulu), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Jimmy Doohan (Scotty), Alexander Siddig (Dr Bashir, ST;DS9), Tim Russ (Tuvok), John de Lancie (Q), Hans Zimmerman (StarTrek producer), Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp, Jean Reno, Matthew Broderick, the star voices of The Simpsons ... and at a local level ... also Alex Norton (Taggart), Billy Paterson (many tv progs), John Murtagh, Tam Dean Burn and Billy McIlhaney (River City) and many others through work I have done on stage, TV and film.
And I'm not boasting. These people are like you n me, very down to earth and no Hollywood glitter around them. They'll talk and laugh with you as long as you don't chase them for autographs, pics and interviews. They're nice guys if you don't go all "Hello" and gooey over them.
