I couldn't believe the change either ecm. I saw him (along with his sister and his son) at the Glasgow Concert hall during the "Celtic Connections" season then caught sight of footage of him at the Cambridge Folk Festival only about a year later. I was shocked by the change in him and was convinced that the man must be terminally ill, though, judging by his last album, he's still got a fair bit of life left in him yet

Not sure I was born when she was popular, and have never met another person yet that likes her wailing, but hey. I think Phoebe in Friends is based on her, musically at least. Very similar song writing talent.

. Often listen to a classical channel when doing paperwork at work - helps to keep me in my chair for more than 5 minutes. However, going to now switch the thing off before I scream at it!

Had a good time last night ecm. You'll be glad to know that he was looking pretty fit (and didn't need the extra fish supper I took along for him). Says he's fallen in lurv.
He started with "The Revolution Starts Now", finished the first set with "The Revolution Starts Now" and did a cover of The Beatles' song "Revolution" so that gives you a flavour of the night

Think some of his die-hard fans were a bit disappointed at the amount of rock and focus on the latest album (though "Condi,Condi" was popular along with "F the CC", with his 'newer' fans), but he also played old favourites such as "Copperhead Road", "Transcendental Blues" and "Guitar Town".

Maybe falling in love is what keeps his music going? Maybe he can't afford to eat what with all the alimony payments he must have to make.
This one'll be wife number seven if he marries her.

Around 4 yards of folky vinyl came my way recently, and I'm finding some real gems. Nic Jones is playing on my office turntable at the moment, a very fine guitarist.

She commented that there were some tracks missing compared to the album sleeve

Being of the CD generation, she didn't know that you had to turn over and play the other side

Foxy, that's really depressing!!!
My son simply doesn't understand that five years ago having an internet-enabled pc at home was the exception, not the rule, and his horror at the idea that we had three TV channels and no videos is quite something to see!

On a trip to the Chambers Street Museum with the kids they asked, "What's that Dad?" It was of course a turntable. However, if that wasn't bad enough, there were also some vinyl albums on display that I still have in my collection from my school days (Tubular Bells)! Talk about ancient - I felt prehistoric.

P.S. Currently listening to Oasis - what a band!

I really loved bits of that album when it came out but couldn't play it after seeing the Exorcist as it just freaked me out every time I heard the music used in the soundtrack again.

No, but I remember puzzling over the two St. Johns ambulance persons sitting at the back with their kit at the ready. I seem to recall they were kept busy with people fainting, threatening to throw up and the like.
