Rubbish in Figgate Burn through Rosefield Park

Whilst walking through the park and over the bridge into Bailleyfield Industrial Estate,I noticed that there was a lot of traffic cones and at least two trafffic barriers in the burn as well as someone's front gate.
What a same after the efforts that were put in last year to clean this up.

Could the council remove these items as soon as they can and they will no doubt be able to use them elsewhere ,except the gate of course.

This part of the burn seems to get mistreated frequently and I'm pretty sure that a lot of this is due to the kids using the rope swing across the burn.

Has anyone got a sharp knife??? to remove it as it can't do the trees and river embankmemt any good ,never mind the Health and Safety risks that these swings can cause.

As one of the people regularly involved in cleaning this stretch of the burn it is disheartening to see rubbish being tipped into it, and a lot of it is by kids. although you may have also noticed some fly-tipping further up stream which is definitely down to 'adults'.

My son and a lot of other local kids play down there. They regularly end up in the burn, having fallen off the tarzan swing (and one incident did admittedly involve a trip to casualty) but kids will be kids and they have had great fun there over the summer. These aren't the kids filling the burn with rubbish. In any case, you could cut the rope down tonight and it would be back up within days. Obviously, it's a public park and the problems tend to be caused by kids from other areas.

In fact, my son had told me of this problem a few days ago and I had been meaning to email Robert Davidson, the Task Force Manager, so thanks for reminding me. Hope to organise a beach clean-up soon by the way so I will post to let everyone know when I have details.
