Rumour has it that Kirkwoods is closing down and the premises are going to be taken over by a Bookmaker.
In my reckoning there are three bookies in Portobello already,do we really need another ?
Maybe one of the existing ones is relocating but I'm not sure that that's the best location for it.

In my opinion it would be a terrible shame if a bookies took over this prime spot location on Porty. As you say, TG there are already 3 bookies in Porty. I could think of more appealing organisations to take over this spot.

3/1 it's William Hill.

I've just seen that a(nother?) prime-site Porty High Street business is going. Kirkwood's is up for lease and having a clearance sale. Did I miss something on here, or is this news to everyone else? I for one will miss it, as I used it quite frequently. (But then I also miss the Red Giant

)

Thanks wangi! Sorry I didn't pick it up as its orginal thread.
But if I was cross about Kirkwood's going

, I am crosser about it becoming bookies

! Right on the best corner in Porty, too.
