Garage fire drama
Garage fire drama
Well, this explains the black smoke I saw yesterday evening. Hope no-one (here especially) too badly affected.

We just happened to passing at the time.
It looked horrendously dangerous for the Firemen - I have never before seen smoke so thick and menacing looking. I can only guess it must have been some tyres burning from the adjoining garage.
Mr Lizzie and his colleaugues would most certainly have earned their money on that one. Well done lads.

I've just been along to see about getting my bike MOTd. They're still open (but pretty angry that the fire brigade weren't called sooner). I'm glad they're not out of action, they're a friendly, helpful bunch in my experience.Poppy wrote:Jamesie, the garage is the one where Milton Road East joins Musselburgh Road in a pointy junction just before Musselburgh itself. Or was the one, according to all reports :(
That's very good news as in the paper yesterday the owner was none too optimistic.Skeely wrote:I've just been along to see about getting my bike MOTd. Excellent news Skeely. Homer's bike is due its MOT and I had just reminded him of this yesterday before reading about the fire at Scott's. He'll be pleased he doesn't have to find another garage - he sings their praises too.Skeely wrote:I've just been along to see about getting my bike MOTd. They're open of sorts, but not able to issue MOTs as the Ministry hasn't approved their "altered" premises.
The office was pretty gutted by smoke / water and the new MOT computer is apparently affected.
A real shame, Scott's had just spent a lot of money upgrading their premises to do MOTs on bigger vehicles. Luyckily, it looks like the MOT part of the garage isn't too bad, just the two lockups they used as repair and service bays.

Was it ever "Sense", or was I just completely mixed up? Wasn't very lucky for sure!
