Gala Bingo

Post by nicky » 28 Apr 2005, 17:00

Moan coming up....

I live near the beloved Gala Bingo, along with the rest of Bath Street, and we are regulary disturbed by youngsters using the nice private side lane which is out of sight and so very attractive for drinking etc. Yesterday some older teenagers were climbing on the bingo roof chasing each other. It was terrifying to watch while one threatened to stab the other...it wasn't an idle threat. In the past we've been tried to get the bingo to be a bit more proactive; eg by fixing the blue gate and keeping it locked but they are having none of it. They did fix the gate last summer and leven lock it sometimes but it wasn't long before it was vandalised again. Recently a friend reported a carry on at the back of their premises to them but they replied by saying that they had asked the kids to move on but they refuded so nothing more would be done because, "we can't lay a finger on them".

I'm fed up with such a complacent attitude. The employees aren't paid enough to care I reakon, and they don't have to live with the noise and chaos, not mention the dangerous parking by some of their customers.

Anyone got any idea how we can get this local business to be a bit more responsible? I'd also be interested in hearing other peoples views (positive as well as negative) because I'm planning to write to them. I don't want to come down on a local business as I'm in favour of them in principal and try to support them as much as possible...although I'm not a huge fan of bingo, personally!

Cheers

I do not blame the Company and its employees - I blame the parents. 8)

I saw that crowd on Tuesday night, Robin!, I wouldn't want to be living in the converted church if you had that hanging about outside your window. There had to be about a dozen of them.
