Father's Day

Post by Dadaist » 19 Jun 2005, 19:31

Phew. Beach Babe was not feeling well last night and I have looked after my 2 girls as best I can today. They are now both respectively sleeping in their cot and eating a toasted teacake, which is a much nicer state of affairs than the one at 6.30am when they were most definitely not respectively asleep or eating anything!!

So "got well soon" retroactive greetings to BB (the Philip Dick fans here will not have an issue with this).

After a day's gardening yesterday and my pal's 30th birthday party last night I rolled in at 1.45 this morning with the hiccups, not expecting BB to be on the boke. If only I had had the precognition to have saved an iota of energy for today, and had not drunk so much hops, yes I know it's self inflicted and I am not asking for your sympathy Marya; today would have been a bit easier.

Anyways, in order to keep up my energy today I forced myself to wheel the offspring to the Blue Bean, where the nice man brought me a disposable coffee. Walked past the House Of Wang, saw the cute BBQ and thought about waking them up so's I could use the toilet.

Child #1 was quite happy to eat raisins while daddy sucked on his coffee - and she had plenty of nice people on the prom to ogle.

Tired baby napped, but then decided to wake up and want more food and entertainment, so we burned more rubber off the Mamas 'n' Papas person carrier and went to see the nice man and his Chinese Food wagon at Kinnaird. He forced me to eat Singapore Spicy Fried Rice whilst Junior added to the already mountainous mountain of crunchy, mushy and bovine foodstuffs she had had so far with some more raisins.

I have only ever been so hot, tired and hungover at the same time once before. But that is another story and it involves mosquitos, imitation Tequila and a spinning room.

I can't be that bad though, as I have managed to type all this in without falling asl

We spent the day at my dad's playing table tennis. Cycled the 7 miles there and back as well so now sitting with our feet up and a nice cold beer.

OK you didn't ask for my sympathy Dada, but you've got it anyway, along with poor Beachbabe of course. Please send lots of sympathy her way. What a rotten way to spend one of the nicest weekends of the year so far.

I was most impressed, when I bumped into her and Beachbaby on Sat. , to hear of your gardening plans - sifting soil?! - though I do highly recommend planting lots of 'ground cover' :flower: thereby eliminating the need for such tedious tasks as weeding and leaving much more time for such essentials as blethering over a glass of wine.

We're off to a garden centre tomorrow actually.

Sympathy much appreciated, my eyes are having trouble focusing and BB is v tired.

Rankin' Mz Dada I'm sure will have fun too looking at different types of bedding plants.

Aha, as I write this, His Nibs has turned up from a hard day's butterfly harassment, bee hunting and crow terrorising to demand soft food. All is well.

So tired, in fact, that I didn't even realise that I was posting from BB's laptop, which she was logged in as BB in. Must go to bed.

Dada.

Yes thanks, or at least recovered enough to tire ourselves out again.

Bought a couple of trays of lobelia and a rose plant called Troika.

Very nice - only 1 plant, not 3?

Did you catch the nice nice new Clematis planted in the Garden of Wang this week against the fresh new trellis. What a PITA trying to get the trellis stained last week witht he constant rain...

No, too busy looking at the cool BBQ. Will nose more next time.

Although I didn't know it before I read the label, Troika is a hybrid tea rose.
