Thanks for that Bob! Sure you'll all agree, the kids (and staff) have all worked really hard this week. The place is 100% better already. Will try to post some of the other things going on when I get a chance. Special thanks to Porty, POP, Woodwares and dccairns and fingers crossed for the lottery application which would mean we could do REALLY big things :D

Well done to all. All pretty impressive.

The murals are really dramatic. Are there more like that planned, Epykat?

They've done another two inside the building (must confess to not having anything to do with that!). Outside we've put up four big frames full of clay masks which the kids have been making since March (I think there are about 120+) and they look brilliant. Another group also made over the garden area with compost donated from the Botanic Gardens and plants donated by staff and Porty residents and we also managed to raise £150 to buy materials to make raised beds at the allotment. All in all a very busy week - so thanks - I will have the next 6 off

Result! Just heard today that the playground has been granted £4086 from the lottery  That brings our total makeover budget to £4786! We're planning to buy the kids a shelter for the playground and a bench and table which are suitable for use by wheelchair users. We're also hoping to plant loads of greenery. It also means that we now have some spare cash to buy a shed for the school allotment and materials to make raised beds and paths. All in all a great result and thanks again to everybody who has helped. If we do ever get rebuilt  we'll take it all with us :D

I think it was your extensive and impressive qualifications that swung it

Well, they certainly haven't helped in any of the Lotto draws I've entered so far. Mind you, I haven't checked out tonight's winning numbers.... 8)
