Turkish Tea Garden

Post by PODETTE » 04 Jul 2005, 15:24

I am planning to recreate the banks of the Bosphorus right here in Porty!
As part of the anuual POD (Portobello Open Door) activities, I'd like to arrange a simple tea garden on the prom - arabic music, maybe some dancers, a selection of lovely teas served in decorative tea glasses, some bright coloured banners for decoration and a lovely space by the sea to sit and enjoy...
I am looking for ideas and suggestions about where to borrow tables and chairs, tea urns, and glasses - any thoughts?!
Also, if you fancy helping, you'd be very welcome!

Tables: St James Church have realy good stackable Tables and Chairs. More than enough for your needs. Best if you have a connection there and make a donation to the Church in return. I'm not directly involved with them, like I say its better if you know someeone that is.

St Philips may have similar and they would be more suitable given Prom proximity.

Maybe try the Town Hall for tea urns? I know they do teas at their jumble sales or some of the local pubs for glasses. Sure our new neighbours Punch would be willing to get in with the locals
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!
