Site Reliability - Up & Down Like...

Post by wangi » 18 Aug 2005, 10:12

... A, well never mind.

I'm sure you've all noticed the website & forum has been unavailable quite a lot of late. We recently moved from our old host to a new one. The new one has a very good reputation, and more importantly some interesting "toys" for the guys behind the scenes to play with - which also make maintenance of the site a lot easier.

However we seem to have made the flit at a particularly bad time, and the server we are on seems to be their most unreliable. But - the good news - the hosting company has spent $200k in the past 2 weeks on new hardware and hosting locations and will be starting to migrate to these from the weekend.

So... Hopefully not too much more of it!

Glad to hear this. It was starting to look as though we had moved from an unreliable host to an even more unreliable host. Particularly embarrassing for those of us trying to sell the online directory.

Particularly embarrassing for the person who made the choice. Hopefully it'll work out soon.

Please don't be embarrassed we would literally be nowhere without you and your efforts. Keep up the good work.
