For one day only, an invitation to all POL members to join Marya and Porty (when he finally stops posting) in sunny Rosefield Park for the BRA annual barbeque. This is a private party for local residents plus their very special invited guests.
The event has just started, so feel free to come along whenever you like. Cucumber sandwiches, croquet on the lawn, musical entertainment etc.
See you there!

Ah that explains what appeared to me as an odd conversation we had at the Dalriada, Bob. My apologies for being blunt.
Here is what my ears thought they heard :
Bob : "Do you want to come to the Brighton Residents' Association yak yaketty yak yak"
Dada (who hates meetings) : "No"
Bob : "But you'll get a sausage"
Dada (who is now even more confused than normal) : "Thanks, but no"
Sincere apologies.

Fed on lettuce (and water!) for two weeks, then on bread for one week.Bob Jefferson wrote:And these really were local snails, fed on lettuce and then starved for four days before being cooked in butter, garlic and parsley.
After cooking the snails have to be removed from their shells, cleaned, then replaced in their shell before the garlic butter is added. A real labour of love. They were very tasty and even my son surprised me by wolfing them down.
He now wants to cook some of our own
About 30Great pic Marya. Any more? (And did you pick up my tongs?)

And yes, I've got your tongs, along with a tupperware box.
Wonder if anyone claimed the solitary pair of adult flip flops that were sitting in the middle of the park at the end?I had a great time and I assume the resident who walked home in their bare feet must have had as well
Enjoyed chatting to lots of folk. Porty told me that he had surprised himself by managing to hold onto the same pair of sunglasses all summer; he then promptly stood on mine
Hopefully we'll get the same glorious weather next year and even more residents attending.
