Hello

Post by Jackson Priest » 30 Aug 2005, 18:20

Greetings Portobello People

I stumbled across this website while looking for interesting community-type things to do in Porty for me and my family – the usual kind of thing: tennis lessons, bee-keeping, wife-swapping, cookery classes…

But I didn't expect such a brilliant forum, on which I have been lurking quite regularly of late. By crikey, it's even better than the Hartlepool United supporters' forum!

So: hello to you all, and I hope you don't mind me joining in for the occasional ramble.

JP.

Hello Jackson - love the beard! Please tell me it's a photo shop job.

As for the wife-swapping, perhaps a thread over on Pbay?

Hi Jackson and welcome to POL :)

I thought maybe the beard and bee-keeping were one and the same. Very handy being able to take your hobby everywhere with you :o

Hello Poppy and ECM

I might just do that. I am back from my holidays by the 23rd I believe. (And I have no friends.)

Unfortunately I cannot lay claim to that beard being my own.

Or the head either for that matter.

Although I do own a moderate amount of face furniture, I don't think it will ever achieve such lustrousness.

Oh well.

Excellent. Poppy was worrying that the men would be out-numbered.

Look forward to meeting you if you do make it along. Are you off somewhere nice on your hols?

For a moment there Bob, I read that as a very poor attempt at circumventing the profanity filter.

Hello and welcome Jackson - fellow Marlborough St resident :D (psst, Sandra...any idea who this might be........  )

Marlborough St seems to be one of the most fertile breeding grounds for POLers, quite a few present and ex-residents from this neck of the woods.

Hello everybody and thank you very much for the warm welcome.

Having just spent half an hour trying to work out how to put quotes in and failing miserably, (I am stupid), I'll just have to answer in a random way...

ECM - yes, thank you for asking, I am going for a week in a caravan with wife and 6 mth old daughter and in-laws (it's quite a big caravan) in Brittany, followed by a wedding in Paris. I am extremely posh, as you will be able to tell by this. (All people from Hartlepool are posh).

BOB - I take it you mean Carlisle and not Colchester or Cambridge United?! (Can't think of any others.) I have watched quite a few dire matches between the 2 of us. We will probably meet again next season if our early season rubbishness is anything to go by.

BEARCUB - hello fellow Marlborough Street-er. You may or may not have seen me, balding, sweaty, rotund and hairily faced (painting a nice picture here), walking towards the tiddly-om-pom-pom, pushchair (not my own) in front of me.

By the way - in the interests of open-ness (is that a word?) Jackson Priest is not my real name, it's just a pseudonym designed to make me sound more interesting, and of course hide my true identity, which i will never reveal.

So long,

Patrick (gah! blown it!)
aka J.P.

Funnily enough, my real name isn't Epykat  And we've all made the above vow at some point  It'll never last. Hopefully see you on the 23rd for you to be officially and unceremoniously outed, spladooshed and bagged

This is a quick note to say hello and thank you to the other people who posted after my last post. You certainly are a heck of a friendly bunch.

Just one thing i need to clarify:

Marya wrote:

Judas Priest: no! Jackson Browne: Not really! (Have one album by him though)

Bit embarassed as this should all be in the newbies section, so I'd better write about budgerigars quickly, so this isn't at the top of the list.
