Pop Quiz Funraiser for Maggie's Centres
Pop Quiz Funraiser for Maggie's Centres
One of my friends is doing a walk at Macchu Pichu (please excuse the spelling if that's not correct) to raise funds for Maggie's. Our local celebrity pop quiz master, Tommy Nimmo, is doing a pop quiz fundraiser for her.

I realised that I have called this a "funraiser" in the title. Well, I suppose it's better than a hellraiser, although there might be a bit of that going on as well.
I have spoken to Tommy and, for those of you who went to the previous one, this will be a DIFFERENT quiz (not that I can remember all the things I didn't know before), so those who went to the other one will not be at an advantage - apart from your superior knowledge. In fact, Tommy says that this one will we just as easy(?!!!) as the other one.

Shouldn't you be consulting the others who have shown interest in the Dalriada night before making a decision on this.
A lot of folks might just prefer to stay local or be looking for a more low-key evening, especially if it's going to be their first meet up with other PoLers.
I'd rather assumed it would be one or the other - a night at the Dalriada or the funraiser-but I think we should stick to the Dalriada plan until we hear from other folks.
Do we need a vote?

I agree with you, first time POLers might find it a bit daunting their first meet a "wild" quiz night, I for one would rather stay local.ecm wrote:A lot of folks might just prefer to stay local or be looking for a more low-key evening, especially if it's going to be their first meet up with other PoLers.

Sandra, I think you and young ecm are right now one thinks about it - meeting in a pub means people can come when it suits them AND can get away when it suits them because (a) they are scared
or (b) can only stay a wee while.
Anyway, is there enough time to get our visas for venturing out of Porty into the West Zone!?

Think we've had quite a good response to the Dalriada night, with a few people saying they might pop in - don't think we'd get the same turn out for this and it would just be the same old gang going to itPoppy wrote:Sandra, I think you and young ecm are right now one thinks about it - meeting in a pub means people can come when it suits them AND can get away when it suits them because (a) they are scaredor (b) can only stay a wee while.
Although no reason why anyone shouldn't pop along to this later (if they've still got the energy, or even the legs to stand on
