We could never find anyone to compare to Porty - there's only one of him.

When they made him, they broke the mold.

Derek Wall, an economics lecturer, is challenging to become the Green party's new principal speaker at its conference in Lancaster.

He is on the left of the party and describes himself as an "eco-Marxist". He is a 25-year veteran of Green politics, having joined the party in 1980.

A veteran at 25?

I think that's 25 years of shrub activism, not 25 years on the planet.

Surely it would have to be "a 25 year-old veteran of Green politics" ?

Maybe your subconscious wanted him to be 25.
