Does anyone know a DI that they are happy to recommend? It is not for me you understand

The fact that he used to live below the magnolians and didn't appear with too many bumps in his car, and is an affable type of guy is about all I know re his teaching skills, but I'm very happy to recommend him. Mark runs the Total (not Totalled) Driving School in Gilmore Place

Dunno if he can be enticed to the wilds of Porty though...

Happy Hour in Portobello (Keith) is currently teaching Rose to drive. No complaints from her and fingers crossed a first time pass!!!

Patience driving school is the way forward, guy is a legend and everyone I know inc me he has passed first time. dont have his number to hand but he is in the yellow pages. He bides in Duddingston and is a one man band!

I am the one, big disappointment in Gary's (Mr. Patience) career then.
I took lessons from him for the best part of a year!!!

He was very patient and I too know quite a few other folks who passed first time and without too many lessons from him. His reputation is very well deserved.

It was roundabouts. I just fell apart as soon as I approached one of the damn things. There were just too many things to do as you drive around them.

Sadly, no.

I gave up saying to myself that perhaps after a wee break I'd come back to it and find everything would fall into place.

That was a few years ago now and I don't think I'll try again.

Yes, driving around them is advisable. Indicating at the right time and for the right exit is also advisable. Moving into an appropriate gear whilst doing these other things is also good.
Bursting into tears, cursing terribly or laughing hysterically don't help.

I originally went with a Polish gentleman, Duransinski (sp) RIP White eagle. In my eyes he was the best ever ADI ever. He even got Mr Handyside through his test... for those of you who dont who Handyside is, he is an examiner at Joppa

I went with Gary when I had to resit my test due to the new 6 points totting up system for new drivers. He was the only instructor willing to take me on for 2 weeks in the run up to my test, apart from being a bit heavy right footed luckily I didnt develop many dirty habbits.

Isn't that a bit off-putting when you are learning to Drive? Surely the big drum thing on his chest obscures one's view to the left?
