Hi

We take this opportunity to tell you about an exciting project we hope to bring to your local area. We have recently had a meeting with Councillor Maureen Child, who told us about your website. The reason we have contacted you is due to the need of a location. At present we don't have a suitable location for our teen complex.

SubZero Teen Bar is a new business concept from a team of 15 and 16-year-old school pupils in Edinburgh. Their vision is to establish an innovative Leisure Centre for youngsters aged 12-17. The Centre would be strongly-branded, high-security, non-alcohol and focused on providing a safe, clean environment for young people to meet, play and relax, all at a reasonable cost. It will be located in an Edinburgh suburb, with good public transport links, and be open to members-only, prioritised to meet the needs of local youngsters. It will be large in scale, c.35,000sq ft, with the capacity for 350 at any one time.

We have been looking at the Portobello Pitz as a possible site for SubZero, and we were wondering if you could feature us in your website and paper to receive feedback from the local community on what they thought of the idea.

Perhaps a possible meeting date could be arranged to help you get a better picture of this idea.

Why would they get the bowling site? With the closure of Edinburgh Indoor Bowling Club (which leaves Porty as the only indoor bowling complex this side of town) the membership of the private club in the PIB and Leisure Centre has increased by approx 200 members and is thriving. Has there been talk of the centre being sold off.?

I thought I read somewhere that the Corsie centre and land around it was to be used for housing?

Was at the Community Council meeting last night and heard a very professional presentation by a young man called Ross re this project. Very impressed. It's on a much larger and more ambitious scale than I imagined and I would love to see it up and running. However, finding the right spot will be a major hurdle and I don't think there's much chance of the Council letting them get their hands on the one they want :?
