Give us a song then!!

Post by ali » 07 Oct 2005, 22:38

Want to hear something again?

Haven't heard that "special" record for years?

Got a great story to tell about a song from the past that we could help
illustrate??

What about that song that is so bad its great?? Challenge us to hunt it down!!

We've got the whole worldwide web to trawl and we're ready to go!!!!

DJ Dada says that if we can get an hour of stuff together then he'll put it on air.

Any song we want is guaranteed to be played? superb

Okay, lets kick off with a real classic - Aint no surfing in Portobello (mainly because you have to have your hepatitis shots first of all)

And then why not follow it with a golden oldy - like Windmill in Old Amsterdam. No particular reason - but mainly bcos I bet they won't play it... :cat:

My final choice would be the immortal The KKK Took My Baby Away.

But I could go on in similar vein for some considerable time... \:D/

If it can be found, then yes.

"Ain't no surf in Portobello" has already had a lot of play, thanks to it kicking off Bob's 1st playlist, but that's no reason why we shouldn't play it yet again.

We'll get to work on your other choices and see what we can do.

If someone can find : Cut Your Motor Off by Black Nasty, I will be eternally grateful. I was given the single, with a big, as opposed to a small, hole in the middle by Ian Gilzean and Brian Monteith, who used to be the local DJ"s. Must have played it 1000 times but I lost it sometime ago.

Can't recall all the lyrics but think it started

"Time and time again, Ive been following you....

There's always one.

We can report a 100% success rate at finding the requests made so far but this will be a toughie.

We have about 20 minutes worth of music so far so, come on folks, get requesting and help us get some more sounds together.

Gemini, more than happy to include SAHB. A big favourite of mine.

I have 2 requests please ecm and Ali.

Here are my requests:

Groovy Baby by Microbe (this was a vaguely space age novelty single from approx 1969ish - I think)

and

I Wish I could Sprechen Sie Deutch (I might have spelt this wrong) by Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle (I might have spelt this wrong too)

If you can find them I will tell you where Vashti Bunyan lives.

JP.

You could try http://tv.cream.org/specialassignments/ ... crusoe.mp3 and play it as often as you like! The main site http://tv.cream.org/specialassignments/themes/1.htm is pretty good for TV themes.
