Radio Free Porty - 100% Legal!!
Radio Free Porty is now 100% legal. Our new playlist may be small, and our website emptyish, but our spirit is unbroken.
To those of you who wanted us to be Radio 1, my apologies.
To any of you with a spare 1600 smackers - you can sponsor us if you like (no banks please) as this is the extortionate amount that the copyright police think we should cough up to enjoy art together.
To those of you who would like to help build a community web radio presence, you are come home.
Hello from RFP to our new friends working in the field of copyright law - be they in Scotland or Elsewhere, and to station mascot Lawrence "tittle tattle" Marshall. You have our consent and permission to listen to and enjoy our output which is, as the station is titled, free.

Re: Walk the Line
There's not many movies that Mrs Dadaist and I agree on wanting to see together - and certainly not musicals - but this one transcends boundaries.AmericanaOK wrote:On the subject of Walk the Line - tried to see it on Monday at Ocean Terminal only to find they were not showing it! He's the man.
I subscribe to a few podcasts, and one of the great ones is Mark Kermode's film reviews from 5 Live - his reason for loving the movie is hilarious!

I think the license that Americana is referring to is one which enables them to transmit - ie they have been given a frequency to broadcast on - I assume that copyright is a different matter.rathbone wrote:Great to hear about Leith![]()
But is there any news about a licence for Radio Free PORTY?
I will mail the MCPS dudes and ask them if their promised scheme for wee internet stations exists yet. I doubt it.
Was that not the 60's? Radio Caroline.CatzVP wrote:We could put you in a old boat in the middle of the North sea with a dodgy transmitter. like in the 70's...Dadaist wrote:[I think the license that Americana is referring to is one which enables them to transmit - ie they have been given a frequency to broadcast on
Then of course we had 208 Radio Luxembourg, how very strange.
Actually, I just thought it would be fun to put D in an old boat in the middle of the North Sea!! I wasn't thinking about a radio station!!Porty wrote:Was that not the 60's? His name isn't xxx, he just doesn't want all y'all knowing his name.Hi xxx
Radio Free Porty have been keeping their noses clean of licensed material as agreed.
I was just sniffing around to see if there was any news from your end with regards to a license we could afford, which would enable us to stream copyrighted material?
Please let me know if there's anything in the air
Matthew @ Radio Free Porty
