Hi

I was wondering if anyone out there has sufficient techie knowledge to help me with an annoying computer problem?

When windows asks me if I want to save a password and I click yes, it doesn't actually save it. Which means everytime I try to access my college email I have to enter the password each time, rather than being able to rely on it to remember. I am guessing that I maybe have to change a setting somewhere. I have had a look about and can't see anything obvious that I can change to make it work.

Any ideas anyone? It is driving me MAD!!!

What is asking for the password? Outlook? Windows Dial up? Your College Network?

Okay, here is one example:

"Do you want windows to remember the password, so that you don't have to type it agin the next time you visit this page?, click yes or no"

When I click yes and I go into the website again, it hasn't saved the password....

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated. Before I go mad!

Try these settings in internet xplorer:

Select Tools>Internet Options>Content.

Under Personal information, click on AutoComplete.

check "User names and passwords on forms"

see if that works

If its your college email your trying to enter via home I take it? there might be something inbuilt that won't let you do that? Just a thought? does it work with say hotmail or yahoo?

Are your cookies enabled?

Hi

Have checked cookies and they are set at medium, which I guess it should be at? I have had the computer a year and never been able to get it to save passwords, but I was able to save the passwords incl. college email from my old computer with no problems.

Never mind, it was worth a go!
