Saddam on trial

Post by mr magnolia » 22 Oct 2005, 22:35

I know it's a bit tedious, and I know I'm just a tired old cynic (yeah, as well as a zestful energetic father...) but really, this 'trial' business really gets me down. It all feels like a present-day history lesson as a re-run of many previous hero-to-villain and/or vice-versa stories.

here's Simon Jenkins from Wednesday's Grauniad:
At the weekend the Americans used air power rather than local troops to kill over 70 "insurgents" in a Sunni village outside Ramadi in revenge for five American deaths.
so just remind me who is putting Saddam on trial for what?

Perhaps we could set up the international people's court of Portobello and bring ALL of the ******** to book?
