Beach barriers
Beach barriers
Does anyone know who is in charge of the concrete lumps that now block all ramps down to Porty beach?
Ho right, I'd like to use those jet skiers for target practicewangi wrote:Aye, makes me feel a lot safer... BTW rapunzell, the slip at the east end of the beach (Joppa Rocks) isn't blocked off - but if you're thinking of taking a jetski down GTF
You know that supposedly you need permission from the coast guard before launching anything... !
Nope, I am more bothered by the fact that all disabled access has been blocked, which is putting paid to having certain visitors over to sit on the beach with me next weekend.
Damn, have discovered that a wheelchair can't actually fit through that gap. This afternoon I utilised my most patient friend in order to test all the 'access' gaps left to the beach along Porty prom and can sadly confirm that none of them are wide enough to push a wheelchair through.Poppy wrote:Rapunzell - there is still access down a ramp/steps just outside the baths, if that helps?
Have you been in touch with the Council about this, rapunzell?rapunzell wrote:Damn, have discovered that a wheelchair can't actually fit through that gap. Oh yes, been asking them to re-establish disabled access since they put the barriers up a couple of months ago now. They always say they'll look into it and get back to me. Lawrence Marshall asked about it for me, and there have been a lot of complaints too, but nothing is happening.ecm wrote:Have you been in touch with the Council about this, rapunzell?rapunzell wrote:Damn, have discovered that a wheelchair can't actually fit through that gap. Today we gave the blocks a shoogle and estimated that it would only take three folk to shift one block a few centimetres at each entrance : )
