Ninewells Hospital

Post by bellybabe » 14 Nov 2005, 13:17

I know we had a thread on how wonderful - or not - the ERI staff were, so I thought I'd mention Ninewells. Back from a traumatic weekend in Dundee where, on Saturday night in the middle of a seminar, my very close friend was taken ill. We whisked her off to A&E at Ninewells (early-ish, before the Saturday night rush) and I have to say I have never been so impressed with hospital staff anywhere else. They were amazing. Calm, efficient, very friendly, caring and thoughtful. I don't know yet how she's found being on the wards but certainly I couldn't fault A&E. So I thought it would be nice to say something good about them since our NHS staff often take such kicking (metaphorically).

Nice to hear. I know a couple of people who work in that hospital and I would imagine they would be very good with their patients.

Thanks. She's not great - she's still there. We had to pack up and leave her there, which wasn't easy. She's recovering though...I'm just not sure how much of a recovery it will be. Not the best weekend I've had.

BB sorry to hear about your friend...hope she is on the mend. You seem to have done more than your fair share of hospital visits in the last few months :(

Thanks, Foxy - I do, don't I? At least so far I've always been the one visiting and not having to stay, though, for which I'm grateful! My friend appears to have had a minor stroke. She's feeling a lot better but they're still not letting her out, so I'm still feeling anxious about her.
