I've just added a
new gallery courtesy of Epykat, who has sent me some old b&w pics of the Promenade. I'm hoping that she will add some captions in due course and that other people will be able to add some background to the events depicted.

What brilliant pics, Epykat. Great addition to the gallery.
The one of Marlborough Mansions being demolished is really amazing as is the one of Spike and his pants on the beach.

Fantastic pics EK, brought memories flooding back.
Is there any pics of when the Radio 1 Roasdshow used to come to the beach?

There are a couple of Mike Reid posing on the wall so I'll get them for you!
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Does anybody know anything about the poor legless statue? I think it could have been in the swing park on the Prom just by looking at the background (there used to be a doorway in the wall where we could go straight from the playground into the swingpark) although I don't remember it.
