What do you want for xmas?
What do you want for xmas?
And it can't be anything unattainable like peace on earth or a dinner date with either PoP or myself.
I used to feel really sorry for my dad when we all were getting exciting presents from Santa. Dad just used to get things like; big pairs of Y fronts (even tho he was small), after shave (which in those days was Old Spice) and socks. That was about it and like I say I felt sorry for him.
However, now I'm a middle aged Dad I don't think he was so badly off. There is a distinct lack of socks in my house and although Y fronts would not be welcome other forms of underwear would be desirable.
This year I would be happy with a new tie or two and perhaps a new pink shirt. Simple but effective.

Golf games rule.
One great thing you can get for PCs is an arcade simulator - meaning it plays all the old arcade games. I love golf arcade games but never wanted to give them my money, so this is perfect - not only do I get to play golf arcade games, it's free and unlike in the arcades you can :
1. cheat
2. save your game
3. put in as much money as you like
4. sit down
5. drink coffee
6. not stand next to someone with soap-related problems
The old golf arcade games were such a swindle and if you were rubbish (...) you got hardly any practise before they ate your money. But on an emulator all you have to do to put money in is press F1.
Golf games rule also because of the bird noises and other "ambient" effects, and the crowd noises, commentary etc.

My 3 bosses each gave me gifts - bottle of Parly Champagne, a metalwork butterfly brooch and original framed watercolour of a greek house.

I didn't want much for Christmas. This is a good thing because yesterday I was told that's exactly what i'm getting.
I was told the thing other half was trying to get wasn't available, so I'm just going to have to wait and get a joint Christmas/birthday present.
Not only that, but in order to assuage one's guilt, one has now tried stating that "We agreed we weren't going to buy each other anything!". Something I would happily have agreed to if it had been suggested before yesterday since I tend to not leave my shopping until Christmas Eve.
As for this...

...how about a date with both of you then? And it can't be a dinner date with either PoP or myself.
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

Like Epykat I want a new digital camera...so I ordered it off the Internet and it's sitting in my hall at the moment waiting for Homer to wrap it up.
All I need now is an instruction booklet in English to go with my new camera which came all the way from Paris and has all the instructions in French
Explains the bargain price

It was made in China and the English instructions contained in the booklet that came with seemed to have been translated from Chinese using something like Babelfish. Totally incomprehensible but a hilarious read.
Still not getting full use of thing.
