Recycling?

I know there is some form of recycling collection here in Porty (I just need to figure out what the colour codes are and what days things are collected) but is there a glass pick up? If not - where's the nearest glass recycling bin?

As I write my freeview reception falls to pieces again. A friend suggested it could be tidal but checking the BBC's tide charts for Leith (as close as they could go) shows no pattern. Grr. At this rate I'm in danger of recycling TV screen glass.

Hi Andy,
The recyling boxed are emptied on alternate weeks, Thursdays for most of Porty. (As in, each one gets emptied once a fortnight, blue one week, red the next.) Blue ones are for cans, glass, and also paper (in the blue bags) and fabrics. Red ones are for cardboard.

And in the meantime one can recycle glass paper clothes cans cardboard etc etc at the carpark for the footie and bowling at the bottom Westbank Street - and of course there's the 'dump' at Seafield. See the LEEP website at www.leep.org.uk for more.

I went down to the Pitz recycling with a large sack of cans on Sunday but the container was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps it's been stolen too. Took the cans home again - not sure what to do with them now.

Got a motor, Gedge? You can take them to Seafield, Morrisons, Sainsburys etc. See the LEEP link above!
