Bob
Just noticed the appearance of the politics forum.
Why don't you introduce a music forum in which we could not only discuss the golden days of Edinburgh punk but it could also be a noticeboard for local musicians, gigs etc?
cheers
Ali
Music Forum?
Ali,
Great idea. I noticed in the current issue of the Portobello Reporter there's a piece about the open mic nights at the Seahaven and the name of Paul Haig was mentioned. Who knows how many other Edinburgh music scene old-timers might be in our midst. There's bound to be a lot of local folks interested in music generally and in what's going on in the local music scene.
Bob, if my brother Ronnie refuses to come out of retirement perhaps a Valves tribute band might be in order.

Re: Music Forum?
I enjoy dicussing music but I'm not sure about a specific forum for it - one of Portyweb's strenghts used to be that you could log into a single forum and catch up on everything. We've already lost that with the addition of the politics forum - another forum would be a step too far.ali wrote: Why don't you introduce a music forum in which we could not only discuss the golden days of Edinburgh punk but it could also be a noticeboard for local musicians, gigs etc?
But by all means -- lots more music chat in the general forum.

Alex - how did you do that? When I replied to ali's post your message was not there. How did you manage to go back in time and post ten minutes before me? And since you have obviously invented a time machine, can I borrow it to go back to East Claremont Street circa 1977 and ask Spike out?
I take your point about the danger of breaking the forum up and I did take this into consideration. Let's give it a trial and see how it goes.
