More sitcom news. Dukes of Hazzard + Cagney & Lacey + (Smack the Pony x Green Wing) = Feel the Force, a new six-parter about to start filming in Edinburgh.

Doon Mackichan (Smack etc) and Michelle Gomez (Green etc) play Sally Frank and Sally Bobbins, two big-haired police officers with a hideous boss. Scriptmeister is Georgia Pritchett (HIGNFY and Smack etc) and director is the CV-tastic Tristram Shapeero, who helmed Green Wing and Peep Show.

* Forcefacts: Both women have mastered great feats of bravery. Doon swam the English Channel, and Michelle married Jack Davenport (This Life, Coupling).

* Feel the Force, coming to BBC2 in 2006

Sally Bobbins (Gomez) takes the job very seriously. She loves to flash her badge, talk into her walkie-talkie and use her truncheon whenever possible. Her partner Sally Frank (Mackichan) on the other hand is lazy and just tries to wing it. Shot on Location in Edinburgh

They were filming in the Figgate Park last week and had the roads shut off for the morning. Loads of Policemen about but we weren't sure if they were real or not!
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Did any one remember to watch this and was it any good? I may go look and see if it's available on Teleport

They were only starting filming/production this last week, Foxy. Don't think it's scheduled to be broadcast til later in the year.

They're filming in my street this morning. I am grateful because as I sit here writing my essay (oh, ok, surfing the forum  ), the sight of two horses walking up and down our street is amusing the bored, school-less children no end. Now if we could just get them to have a high-speed horse chase we'd be set for the day!

Ahh, this could be why there were filming people round the corner from me the other week, with a "fake" polis car!

Look out for neon pink UNIT signs, these direct the fi,ming unit into location!

Noticed they were pointing at Towerbank this morning!

looking forward to seeing this!

Lots of vans full of filming equipment cluttering up the Pitz/Bowls carpark* at 7 tonight - just to add to the fun of the contraflow outside the Town Hall while they dig yp the pavement opposite!!!

* There were yellow neon signs with, I think, LWC on them..............??

The policewomen were out of sight when I got there.

Sicker, that foreground horse certainly knows how to pose for the camera!! Was that its best profile? (I'm too much of a lady to look too closely at its undercarriage to ascertain its gender  !!).

Nice one, Sicker. Watching them trying to get one of the horses in the stair of no 9 was fun.

I am informed (by my Glossop informant, of course...) that the first episode of this airs tomorrow night on BBC2...

Meant to say - I saw them filming down at Granton the other week - just off the big roundabout where the yacht club is.

Will definatly be tuning in - think it will turn into a game of 'spot the location'

Doon MacKichan presumably thought better of it (smart lady) as her part is now played by Rosie Cavaliero (who hell she?).

Denis Lawson (brother of Carole McGregor) had a wee part in tonight's episode. That didn't help.

It was still tosh.
