The License
The MCPS/PRS have (only just - but thanks for the timeous reminder Rathbone) re-worked their licensing scheme to take small broadcasters like us into account.
For an interim payment of £75 (befor VAT) we can now play what we want, from right now (I got permission on Friday after a final flurry of faxes and folding stuff). This will be taken off our total license fee for 2006 of £200 - which I'm sure you will agree is better than the £1200 flat fee they wanted before!
We have a "Limited Online Exploitation License", payment for which now depends on aggregated user listening hours - and we fall safely in the bottom bracket (less than 16,500 hours).
Thanks
Thanks to everyone who has helped out with licensed and unlicensed music - whether as a DJ or an artist - and thanks to everyone who has given us money or publicity.
We are now on an even course, having sailed through some choppy waters!
My PMs have been very quiet of late - just the usual stuff - people threatening me with their lawyers etc - so I would like all of our DJs to get their cds and records back out and think about new sets - then let me know!!!
Final thanks have to go to Bob even if he is busy with his new media friends
Matthew
p.s. Lawrence - is this gossip or tittle-tattle?
edit -> added web address and a dig at an elected representative

Now get thrashing.
