I just noticed that the 'New Portobello High School - where and how?' topic has now overtaken the 'Superstore' thread as the most popular thread ever. At the time of writing, in terms of posts it is way ahead at 822 since Porty started it on 21 October 05 and has now also become the most viewed thread ever.

There have been some excellent posts along the way and users of the Portobello Matters forum must be the best informed residents in Portobello. Keeping up with the deluge of posts each day isn't easy but it's a thread that simply can't be ignored, whatever your view on the proposals.

It's Mr McIntyre I feel sorry for - not only does he have a hangover from the rugby, not only did we get beat, but he has pages of baffling waffle, irrelevant argument, gossip and tittle-tattle to try and sift through in order to find the wheat.

Someone should produce a digest - like those Reader's Digest Condensed Books - so that you can get up to speed on the thread without having to wade through the chaff.

Well done Bob on your idea of having a separate "Portobello Matters" forum - your public have judged it a winner!

Ahh - so it passes right through you if you consume it? That's food for thought - not only am I talking a load of chaff, but I am recycling other people's chaff too!

I love meaningless internet chatter - not only does it provide much needed bulk to smooth the passage of otherwise dry topics, but it makes us seem that bit more human - especially in this Cyber-space.
