Scotland's National Anthem

Well, it's in the news again. Apparently at the Commonwealth games Scotland the Brave is the anthem which is being played for Scotland while at the rugby it's Flower of Scotland. What do you think the anthem should be?

the sound of Scotland the brave being murdered by bad bagpipers on Princes Street has put me off it for life. And I know all the words to Flower of Scotland so it will have to be that.

Where's the "none of the above" option?

I quite like the tune from the kids show Balamory. It's quite jolly compared to the choices give above.

Couldn't we just fiddle with the words a bit. You know, stick in the usual stuff about heather, moutains, glens, deer and stuffing the English?

Mods, can you merge the two threads??? Having the two threads about this is confusing my poor wee brain which is already fugged with hayfever!! Esp now that Dada has posted a quote of mine from one thread to the other making me think some had gone missing!

Sorry about that Poppy. We seem to have broken out in a rash of Anthem threads - as if nationalism wasn't bad enough, they seem to be wanting to rub our noses in it more than once. A bit like Porty starting a new thread every time he asks Alison the same d**n question!!!
