Settling old scores

Post by Dadaist » 31 Mar 2006, 14:44

....ha, just thought I would give my latest apology thread a title other than "Dada's latest round of apologies thread"

I would like to apologise to any and all forum members who I have upset - either by direct fire or by those caught in the crossfire - for the period Jan - Apr 2006.

Whilst a one-size-fits-all apology is offered, I would like to unreservedly apologise (and withdraw all comments made pertaining to) :

xxxx - I am very sorry.

wangi - sorry dude.

foxy - I was grumpy and I am sorry.

seanie - who I have been a bit pithy to recently

Bob - I have given you yet another hard time, sorry Bob.

Bellybabe - sorry

Marya - sorry

If there are any outstanding gripes from anyone then please make yourself known.

Readers should also know that Stephen "Porty" Macintyre is something of a pal and that our banter is just that - albeit robust on occasion - and that he would be more upset by an apology than the general level of insults that pass as our friendship.

I look forward to trying not to insult anyone ever again - yeah, right - over the next financial quarter.

Dada

May I respectfully suggest that in future, with a view to reducing your workload, why not compile an apology omission list? It will be much shorter.

Also, if instead of quarterly apologies you stretch to termly then you may not have to bother with any specific names.

Heh. I think some of the above deserved bespoke apologies, tailored to the specific way I insulted them.

I don't think I have ever insulted Poppy, ecm, Sandra or JP though.

Ipso facto. Its almost 2 apologies for each non-apology :D

Anyway, what do you mean about us trading insults. We haven't done that for ages.

Yeah I know. It's like an uneasy standoff or something. Or maybe an alliance of expediency. Maybe we're in the inter-war years.

It's a PR disaster!!

There's me wanting to apologise and not insult people, and I end up insulting the very people I never insulted because they felt insulted that I had never insulted them!

Nooooooooooooo!!

At least with Macintyre I have consistency. There's a general level of us nipping at each other but we're like Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets.

I accept your apology and would like to backdate an apology to fall inbetween you pointing out my mistake and then apologising for pointing it out.

JP did try to point out at the time that he thought you'd been a little harsh.
He was a newbie then and didn't really know that your bark is .................well, you know. But we do.

I don't know, I make a flippant comment, and all I get is ire.

I think you both should start your own apology threads - Poppy for your over-the-top remarks advocating that I be savaged by dogs, and ecm for using words that I don't understand.

I am most hurt.

JP.
