Turkish Baths

Like DG, I too have been feeling lousy over the last few days. In my case it's merely a seasonal cold, but you know how men like to complain. Mrs Bob suggested I should go along to the Swim Centre for a Turkish bath (I think she just wanted to get rid of me for a while). To my shame I must confess that I have only once previously used this facility, a few years back, but it seemed like a good idea.

I can report that it was a wonderful experience and I felt much better afterwards. It costs £6:40, which includes a swim if you wish. There are times set aside for men only, women only and mixed sessions - check the website for details:

I particularly recommend to you the steam room followed by the cold plunge. Invigorating is one word for it!

Seriously, we are extremely fortunate to have this wonderful facility on our doorstep. If you haven't tried it before, treat yourself over Easter. And forget those expensive, trendy health clubs - the Pulse Centre is MUCH better value for money and every bit as good.

Bob
I think you've forgotten about the intermediate pool where the soles of your feet are beaten with a stick by a fat man with a moustache while listening to David Gray until you promise never to shop anywhere but Scotmid ever again

Ali,
I have to admit that I find the rubbing of fresh tarragon to the soles of the feet is a quite delightful remedy after a stiff beating and, of course, if it's a weekend and you have a chicken to hand, you can always use the tarragon to spice up your Sunday roast.
Unfortunately, there is no known cure/antidote for having listened to David Gray - you're on your own there mate!
